How to Manage and Identify WhatsApp Catalog Products

You can now identify WhatsApp catalog products you've created in Commerce Manager. Customers can click on the catalog and send messages referring to it. You can also identify products referred to by customers from the catalog. In the explanation below, you'll learn how to create a catalog in Commerce Manager, connect a catalog to a WhatsApp account from Business Manager, and identify WhatsApp catalog products.

Important!
Catalog creation does not originate from the Qontak platform. Once you create a catalog, you and your customers can view the catalog directly in your WhatsApp business profile.

A. How to Create a Catalog in Commerce Manager

1 WhatsApp Business API (WABA) contains 1 catalog, so if 1 WABA contains more than 1 number, it will immediately connect to the same catalog.

  1. Ensure your Facebook account is connected to Commerce Manager by clicking "Log in with Facebook"
  2. Then enter your Facebook email address and password, then click “Log in”.
  3. You will then be directed to the following screen. Click "Add products" to continue.
  4. Then, select the Catalogue type, Connect to a partner platform (if applicable), Business ID, and catalogue name.

    - To create a Business ID, click "Create Business ID" as shown above. The following pop-up will appear. Enter your business name, your name, and your business email address. Then click "Submit".

    - The following notification pop-up will appear. Click "Done", then check your email and click the link sent to access your account.

    - Your Business portfolio has been successfully created.

  5. Then click "Next".
  6. You will then be redirected to the following page. Click "Connect a new event source" to select the Meta pixel or app SDK you want to connect to your catalog, then click "Save". If you don't have a pixel or app SDK yet, or if you want to set them up later, click "Skip" to skip this step.
  7. Choose how you want your products uploaded to your catalog. Click "Connect to a data feed" and use Spreadsheet or File upload to automatically update your products. Click "Manually add your products" and fill out the form to manually upload your products to your catalog. Then, click "Next".
  8. On the Add products page, click the plus icon in the Images and videos section, then enter the Title, Description, and Website link for your product. Then, click "Upload items" to upload.
  9. A notification will appear stating that your product is in the process of being uploaded.
  10. You will then be redirected to the following page, indicating that your product has been successfully uploaded.

B. How to Connect a Catalog to a WhatsApp Account from Business Manager

  1. Open Business Manager.
  2. Then click “All tools”.
  3. Then select “WhatsApp Manager”.
  4. in the left menu, click "Catalog", then click "Choose a Catalog".
  5. Select one of the catalogs you have created.
  6. Then, select "Connect Catalog".
  7. The following notification pop-up will appear, indicating that your catalog has been connected.
  8. Once you have successfully created a catalog, you and your customers will be able to view the catalog on your WhatsApp Business Profile.

C. Identifying WhatsApp Catalog Products on Mekari Qontak

  1. Log in to your Mekari Qontak account, then select the Inbox menu.
  2. Then, click the "All Chats" tab, then select one of the conversations that contains a question related to the WhatsApp catalog. Then, click on the catalog details.
