In Mekari Qontak, you can monitor your WhatsApp balance usage more easily using the filter and grouping features. Usage data can be filtered by message category, WhatsApp number, and pricing type, and grouped by message, day, or month according to your needs.
With this feature, you can view WhatsApp usage data more specifically within a certain period, such as monitoring Service message usage or viewing usage from a specific WhatsApp number. You can also combine multiple filters to narrow the displayed data without changing your WhatsApp balance usage or balance. The following is a guide to filtering and grouping WhatsApp balance usage data according to your needs.
A. How to Filter Usage by Category
Here is how to filter WhatsApp balance usage by category to view usage data more specifically.
- Log in to your Mekari Qontak account, then select the “Subscription” menu.
- Then, on the Quota usage tab, set Quota type to WhatsApp balance.
- Select Period by specifying the start and end dates. The maximum selectable period is 31 days.
- Next, click “Filter.”
Specify the WhatsApp number by clicking the dropdown as shown in the image below.
If you have more than one WhatsApp Business number connected, use this dropdown to display usage from one or more specific numbers without mixing usage data from other numbers. By default, the dropdown displays All numbers.
- Click the Category dropdown below WhatsApp number. By default, the dropdown displays All categories. You can select more than one category at the same time, such as Service and Utility. You can also combine the filters Category, WhatsApp number, and Pricing type to display more specific data.
The following are all the categories available in the Category filter and their descriptions:
| Category | Description |
| Marketing | Promotional messages sent to customers, such as offers or campaigns. |
| Marketing Lite | A type of marketing message sent through Meta's optimization channel, with the potential to reach more relevant recipients. |
| Utility | Transactional messages, such as order updates, receipts, or reminders. |
| Utility Group | Utility messages sent to multiple recipients at the same time. |
| Authentication | Messages containing one-time passwords (One-Time Password/OTP) and codes for login or verification. |
| Authentication International | Authentication (OTP) messages sent at international rates. |
| Service | Free-form (non-template) messages from your business team to customers sent within 24 hours of the customer's last message. |
| Referral conversion | Conversations that begin after a customer clicks an ad and sends you a message. |
- Select one or more categories you want to display. For example, select Service to view message usage within the service window.
- Then specify the pricing type (pricing type). Pricing type is used to filter messages based on whether they are charged or not.
The following table explains each Pricing type option:
| Option | Description |
| Regular | Messages charged by Meta. |
| Free service | Free reply messages sent within the 24-hour service window. |
| Free entry point | Free messages sent after a customer clicks an ad or free-entry link. |
| Unknown | Pricing information was not recorded for the message. |
- Then click “Apply” to apply the filter.
- The table will be updated automatically and display the categories you selected to indicate that the filter is being applied.
- You can also adjust the usage data display for a specific period using the Group by feature. Select one of the following options:
Description:
- Message: Displays each message individually.
- Daily: Displays one row for each day.
- Monthly: Displays one row for each month. - Scroll to the bottom of the table to view the usage total. This total is the accumulated usage for the selected period, not just the data displayed on the page.
B. How to View the Number of Free Service Messages Used
To view the number of free Service messages used in one month:
- Set View by to Month.
- Select “Filter.”
- Select the WhatsApp number you want to check.
- Set Category to Service.
Set Pricing type to Free service.
- The maximum selectable period is 31 days for each view, whether Message, Daily, or Monthly. To view a longer period, create reports for multiple periods with a maximum range of 31 days each.
- If you select only Service, the data may be empty for longer periods. Meta will begin charging for Service messages on October 1, 2026. If the selected period ends before that date, the table will display information indicating that Service usage is not yet available for that period.
- Unknown under Pricing type may appear for some data, especially older messages. This means that pricing information for those messages was not recorded at the time. This data does not mean the messages were free and is not combined with any other category.
