Starting October 1, 2026, Meta will change the deduction flow and pricing. In this regard, Mekari Qontak will adjust according to the rules set by Meta.

One of the changes implemented is the reintroduction of a per message fee for service messages. Meta will reinstate the per message fee for service messages at IDR 356.65 per message, effective from October 1, 2026. For example, when an agent replies to an inbound message received through Qontak Inbox, each agent reply message will be charged IDR 356.65.

Meta also introduces a monthly free tier, where each phone number will receive a quota of 1,000 service messages free per month. This quota will be refreshed monthly and cannot be accumulated (rollover) to the next month.

1. Fees were charged per conversation, not per message sent or received.

2. A conversation is a series of 24-hour messages between you and the customer. The conversation is opened and charged when a message you send to the customer is delivered.

3. Available categories:
   Marketing — Enables you to achieve various goals, from creating awareness to driving sales and retargeting customers. Examples include product, service, or new feature announcements, targeted promotions/offers, and cart abandonment reminders.
   Utility — Enables you to follow up on user actions or requests. Examples include participation confirmations, order/delivery management (e.g., shipping updates); account updates or alerts (e.g., payment reminders); or feedback surveys.
   Authentication — Enables you to authenticate users with one-time passcodes, potentially at multiple steps in the login process (e.g., account verification, account recovery, integrity challenges).
   Service — Enables you to resolve customer inquiries.

1. Deductions based on messages sent
   The per message price will apply to all businesses starting October 1, 2026, at 12:01 AM WIB, according to the time zone of the WhatsApp Business account. With the per message price, businesses on our platform will be charged:

   1. Per sent Marketing template message.

   2. Per sent Authentication template message.

   3. Per sent Utility template message, if sent outside of customer service.

   4. Per sent Service message (per reply message, AI reply message, and per attachment/file sent via inbox).

2. New Message ID Column on Package Usage Page
   The new “Message ID” column in the WhatsApp conversation report table distinguishes your deductions for a single conversation. Please open the Package usage menu, then click the “Quota” tab.

4. Here is the breakdown of per message fees in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) on the WhatsApp Business platform. These prices apply according to the country code of the destination number. For example, if you send a marketing message to an Argentine number, a balance of IDR 891.94 will be required.
