Starting July 1, 2025, Meta is changing the flow of deductions and pricing. In this case, Mekari Qontak will adjust to the rules that Meta has set.

Before

  1. Charges are charged per conversation, not per message sent or received.
  2. A conversation is a 24-hour series of messages between you and a customer. A conversation is opened and charged when the message you send to a customer is delivered.
  3. Available categories:
    Marketing
    — Allows you to achieve a variety of goals, from creating awareness to driving sales and retargeting customers. Examples include new product, service, or feature announcements, targeted promotions/offers, and shopping cart abandonment reminders.
Utility — Allows you to follow up on user actions or requests. Examples include opt-in confirmations, order/shipment management (e.g., shipping updates); account updates or alerts (e.g., payment reminders); or feedback surveys.
Authentication — Allows you to authenticate users with a one-time passcode, potentially at multiple steps in the login process (e.g., account verification, account recovery, integrity challenges).
Service — Allows you to resolve customer inquiries.
    Here is the simulation:

After

  1. Service will be free
Starting November 1, 2025, the Service category will be free. There will be no more Monthly Conversation Credit (MCC).
  2. Deductions based on messages sent
Prices per message will apply to all businesses starting July 1, 2025 at 00:01 WIB, according to the WhatsApp Business account time zone. With per-message pricing, businesses on our platform will be charged:
    1. Per Marketing template message sent.
    2. Per Authentication template message sent.
    3. Per Utility template message sent, if sent outside of customer service.
  3. Free Utility Templates in Customer Service Window (CSW)
Starting July 1, 2025, Utility templates sent within the Customer Service Window ("CSW") are free for all businesses. Utility templates sent outside of the CSW will continue to be charged Utility fees. Every time a WhatsApp user sends you a message, a 24-hour timer called the CSW starts (or refreshes if it has already started). Note that you can also respond for free in CSW using any non-template message, such as a text message, which will also be free (this is unchanged).
  4. Free Entry Point Conversations will remain free and will be charged based on messages
With the launch of per-message pricing, Free Entry Point Conversations will be the same, but will reflect messages rather than conversations. When a WhatsApp user sends you a message via Free Entry Point, you can reply with any type of message for free for 24 hours. When you reply, a 72-hour Free Entry Point window will open. You can continue to message the user with any type of message while this window is open, at no cost. Please keep in mind that for the first 24 hours after the client messages you, you can only send templates (for free) unless the consumer contacts you again.
  5. New Message ID Column on Package Usage Page
The new “Message ID” column in the WhatsApp conversation report table differentiates your deductions for a single conversation. Go to the Package usage menu, then click the “Conversation” tab.
    Here is the simulation:
