Starting July 1, 2025, Meta will change the deduction flow and pricing. In this regard, Mekari Qontak will adjust according to the rules set by Meta.

Before

  1. Fees were charged per conversation, not per message sent or received.

  2. A conversation is a series of 24-hour messages between you and the customer. A conversation is opened and charged when a message you send to the customer is delivered.

  3. Available categories:
Marketing — Allows you to reach various goals, from creating awareness to driving sales and retargeting customers. Examples include announcements of new products, services, or features, targeted promotions/offers, and cart abandonment reminders.
Utility — Allows you to follow up on user actions or requests. Examples include participation confirmations, order/delivery management (e.g., shipping updates); account updates or alerts (e.g., payment reminders); or feedback surveys.
Authentication — Enables you to authenticate users with one-time passcodes, potentially at multiple steps in the login process (e.g., account verification, account recovery, integrity challenges).
Service — Allows you to resolve customer inquiries.
    Here is a simulation:

After

  1. Service will be free
Starting November 1, 2025, the Service category will be free. There will no longer be Monthly Conversation Credit (MCC).
  2. Deductions based on messages sent
Per-message pricing will apply to all businesses starting July 1, 2025 at 00:01 WIB, according to the timezone of the WhatsApp Business account. With per-message pricing, businesses on our platform will be charged:
    1. Per delivered Marketing template message.

    2. Per delivered Authentication template message.
    3. Per delivered Utility template message, if sent outside customer service.

  3. Utility templates are free during the Customer Service Window (CSW)
Starting July 1, 2025, Utility templates sent within the customer service window ("CSW") are free for all businesses. Utility templates sent outside the CSW will continue to be charged as Utility. Each time a WhatsApp user sends you a message, a 24-hour timer called the CSW starts (or resets if already started).

Note that you can also respond for free within the CSW using any non-template message, such as text messages, which will also not be charged (this remains unchanged).

  4. Free Entry Point Conversations will remain free and charged per message
With the launch of per-message pricing, Free Entry Point Conversations will apply similarly but will reflect messages rather than conversations. If a WhatsApp user sends you a message via Free Entry Point, you can reply with any type of message free of charge for 24 hours.
If you reply, the Free Entry Point window will open for 72 hours. You can continue sending messages of any type to the user while this window is open, at no cost. Note that 24 hours after the customer first sends you a message, you can only send template (free) messages unless the customer messages you again.

  5. New Message ID Column on Package Usage Page
The new “Message ID” column in the WhatsApp conversation report table distinguishes your deductions for a single conversation. Please open the Package usage menu, then click the “Conversation” tab.
